our mission


First Pitch is a global initiative which aims to aid students who want to build! we sincerely believe that the future belongs to builders and, hence, we hop this platform is able to identify and support those potential builders and give them the confidence to pursue their dreams.

key highlights

  • grades: 3 to 7, 8 to 12, undergrad (students can participate individually or with their co founders)

  • this is an online event and does not charge any registration fees from the participants

  • entrants should register yourself and/or your co founders by 15th October

  • deadline for round 1 pitch submission: 30th October

  • seed funding of USD 3000+ (based on quality of pitches, funding pool will increase)

  • pitches can be in any language but must have english subtitles

  • round 1 pitch video can maximum be 2 minutes long

  • round 2 is the final round in which founders will have to pitch the idea live to a panel of judges, answering questions about the business idea

funding details

  • seed funding worth USD 3000+ will be distributed to the winning pitches
    • $500 seed funding for undergraduate teams who get funded (can be 1 or more depending on quality of pitches)
    • $500 seed funding for grades 8 to 12 (can be 1 or more depending on quality of pitches)
    • $500 seed funding for grades 3-7 (can be 1 or more depending on quality of pitches)
    • $150 worth of masterclasses for each team
    • $200 worth of t-shirts for each team
    • social media maverick: $100 seed funding to pitch videos which receive maximum votes on social media (fb/ instagram/ tik tok)
    • guaranteed spotlight on social media

structure of the competition

  • founding team formation

    • participation can be as a solo founder or with co founders

    • each co founder should belong to the same category (3-7, 8-12 or undergraduate)

    • the member in the highest grade will be considered as a team’s participating group (e.g. if 5 members are in 5th grade and 1 is in 9th grade, the competing group will be 8-12)

    • all the member must be registered beforehand and only they will be considered for certificates

  • round 1 submission guidelines

    • each pitch has to be a maximum of 2 minutes (focused on business idea/ social problem, market, etc.)

    • each submission will have to be made along with a short form containing basic questions about the business idea

    • students can focus on social & non profit ideas as well as profit making enterprises; example of areas for social ideas (this are just indicative to give students a sense):

      • Ideas to solve environmental issues like waste management, climate change etc.

    • pitches may be in any language. non-english audio must have english subtitles

    • each pitch has to be created solely for this competition (cannot be an earlier entry)

    • there are no entry charges for the competition

    • for round 1 each entry will be a simple video upload on Camp Yellow’s portal

    • deadline for submission is 10th October and results of round 1 will be declared by 25th October

  • judging criteria

    • judges for the competition will comprise eminent panelists from the startup ecosystem (such as VCs, founders, etc.)

    • sponsors and its judges will check for adherence to these rules, including eligibility, pitch length, format, etc.

    • pitches will be judged on originality of idea, robustness of thought, potential size of business that could be created or the size of social impact that could be driven, feasibility of idea in terms of execution etc.

other rules (applicable across competitions)

  • Camp Yellow reserves the right to use entry content in any manner they choose. submission of an entry constitutes consent by the entrant for Camp Yellow to use the content in this way and also to use the entrant’s name and photo for publicity purposes. Camp Yellow will, obviously, give credits to the participant any time the content is used

  • the competition judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into regarding the judging process or any outcomes reached

  • Camp Yellow and its affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, shall assume no liability resulting from losses, delays, mistaken addresses on email received, typographical errors, technical, computer or telephone malfunctions, loss or theft of computer or telephone data, damage to software or computer equipment or any other mistake

  • contest officials reserve the right to not name a winner in any given category, pending the volume and quality of entries

  • by entering this contest, all entrants agree that their submission is their own original work, does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others, and is in compliance with all copyright laws

  • in the event that the operation or administration of the contest is impaired for any reason such as, but not limited to, fraud, legality, technicality, or in the event that the contest is unable to run as planned for any reason, sponsor may suspend the contest temporarily or indefinitely. sponsor may address the issue and resume the contest or terminate the contest. suspension or termination of the contest is under the sole discretion of sponsor, and entrants agree not to hold sponsor liable in these circumstances. sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant that it finds to not be in compliance or in violation with the contest rules or any entrant who acts in an unprofessional or disruptive manner

  • in submitting a pitch and filling the application form, all entrants agree to these terms and conditions of the contest and that sponsor is not liable for any unauthorised or inappropriate sharing of pitch. all pitches must adhere to copyright laws and it is the duty of teams to ensure the same

  • in consideration for permission to participate in the contest, entrants (together with parent or guardian if entrant is under 18 years of age or under a legal disability) expressly release and hold harmless the Sponsor from and against any and all claims, demands, and  causes of action arising out of the entrant’s participation in the contest.  Entrant's release and agreement to hold sponsor harmless includes but is not limited to intellectual property disputes, cancellation of the Contest, injury, death, harm or losses of any kind, whether or not caused in whole or in part by the negligence or other fault of the Sponsor or its agents. Entrant (together with parent/guardian if appropriate) waives any right to claim any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to consequential, punitive, direct, or indirect damages, and releases and forever discharges Sponsor, its representatives, employees, officers, agents, and affiliates from all such claims, on behalf of entrants, their heirs, assigns, and any other person claiming by, under or through entrant
