MAKE A 1 MINUTE MOVIE (MINIMUM) IN LANGUAGE OF YOUR CHOICE

  • film should be minimum 1 min in length (entrants are free to make longer movies. however, the length of movie is not an evaluation criteria and a longer film does not mean better scores)

  • Our suggestion is to use the phone camera to shoot (very convenient and offers great quality) but you can choose to use any photo/ videography equipment of your choice

structure of the competition

  • Students can participate individually or can create a crew for making the movie

  • crew formation

    • all the member must be registered beforehand and only they will be considered for certificates

  • submission guidelines

    • each film has to be a minimum of 1 minute (excluding opening and closing credits)

    • Entrants may create a piece of fiction, a documentary, a community-service announcement or a music clip (be sure to adhere to copyright rules!). Submitted films can be animated or live-action – funny or serious

    • students are free to choose the topic of the film as per their interests; few examples are (this are just indicative to give students a sense):

      • Films focused on environmental issues

      • Films focused on an intriguing investigation (police/ detective etc.)

      • Films focused on strong female protagonists and their rights

      • Films focused on extreme pressure that students face, which goes unnoticed

      • Films focused on sports

      • Films focused on friendships

      • Films focused on grit & determination (how an individual overcame extreme odds to achieve something)

      • Films based on absurdity of life

      • Other genres could be comedy, horror, sci fi, etc.

    • films may be in any language or have no dialogue at all. non-english audio (and important on-screen text) must have english subtitles

    • each film has to be created solely for this competition (cannot be an earlier entry); please keep a few proof points to establish the same (e.g. calendar snapshots in the film itself or during production)

    • each film must be accompanied by 3 still images (any powerful image from the film itself)

    • there are no entry charges for the competition

    • each entry will be a simple video upload on Camp Yellow’s portal

    • deadline for registration is 10th October and submission is to be done by 30th october

  • judging criteria

    • judges for the competition will comprise eminent panelists from the film industry and institutes (such as professional directors, film school professors, etc.)

    • sponsors and its judges will check for adherence to these rules, including eligibility, film length, format, etc.

    • films will be judged on originality, creativity, plot, pacing, structure, characters, cinematography and entertainment value as well as on effectiveness of the message and the ability of the film maker to reach an audience

other rules (applicable across competitions)

  • Camp Yellow reserves the right to use entry content in any manner they choose. submission of an entry constitutes consent by the entrant for Camp Yellow to use the content in this way and also to use the entrant’s name and photo for publicity purposes. Camp Yellow will, obviously, give credits to the participant any time the content is used

  • the competition judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into regarding the judging process or any outcomes reached

  • Camp Yellow and its affiliates, as well as their respective directors, officers and employees, shall assume no liability resulting from losses, delays, mistaken addresses on email received, typographical errors, technical, computer or telephone malfunctions, loss or theft of computer or telephone data, damage to software or computer equipment or any other mistake

  • contest officials reserve the right to not name a winner in any given category, pending the volume and quality of entries

  • by entering this contest, all entrants agree that their submission is their own original work, does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others, and is in compliance with all copyright laws

  • in the event that the operation or administration of the contest is impaired for any reason such as, but not limited to, fraud, legality, technicality, or in the event that the contest is unable to run as planned for any reason, sponsor may suspend the contest temporarily or indefinitely. sponsor may address the issue and resume the contest or terminate the contest. suspension or termination of the contest is under the sole discretion of sponsor, and entrants agree not to hold sponsor liable in these circumstances. sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant that it finds to not be in compliance or in violation with the contest rules or any entrant who acts in an unprofessional or disruptive manner

  • in submitting a pitch and filling the application form, all entrants agree to these terms and conditions of the contest and that sponsor is not liable for any unauthorised or inappropriate sharing of pitch. all pitches must adhere to copyright laws and it is the duty of teams to ensure the same

  • in consideration for permission to participate in the contest, entrants (together with parent or guardian if entrant is under 18 years of age or under a legal disability) expressly release and hold harmless the Sponsor from and against any and all claims, demands, and  causes of action arising out of the entrant’s participation in the contest.  Entrant's release and agreement to hold sponsor harmless includes but is not limited to intellectual property disputes, cancellation of the Contest, injury, death, harm or losses of any kind, whether or not caused in whole or in part by the negligence or other fault of the Sponsor or its agents. Entrant (together with parent/guardian if appropriate) waives any right to claim any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to consequential, punitive, direct, or indirect damages, and releases and forever discharges Sponsor, its representatives, employees, officers, agents, and affiliates from all such claims, on behalf of entrants, their heirs, assigns, and any other person claiming by, under or through entrant
